We are delighted to introduce The Heritage Circle CIC. Connecting Heritage, People and Place.

Heritage is more than old buildings and artefacts — it is the stories, skills, landscapes, and lived experiences that shape who we are. The Heritage Circle CIC was founded on a simple belief: when communities understand, celebrate, and protect their heritage, they become stronger, more confident, and more connected.

Based in Northern Ireland and working across the region, The Heritage Circle CIC designs and delivers projects that involve, inspire, educate, and empower people to engage with the heritage around them. Whether its a community or capital heritage project, partnership working or a place plan, our work brings together communities, organisations, and partners to explore the past in ways that create meaningful impact today.

Who We Are

The Heritage Circle CIC is a Community Interest Company dedicated to widening access to heritage. We combine professional expertise in heritage, facilitation, governance, and community engagement with a deep commitment to social value.

Our team brings together 3 Directors with over 30 years combined experience in the heritage sector, and community engagement, who share a passion for heritage and helping people connect with the stories that matter to them. Whether we are working with local residents, schools, volunteers, or partner organisations, our approach is always collaborative, inclusive, and grounded in best practice.

What We Do

We specialise in designing and delivering heritage projects that are imaginative, participatory, and rooted in community needs. Our work includes:

Strategic Organisational Development

Building stronger, smarter heritage organisations through focused strategy, governance excellence, and long‑term capacity building.

Heritage Project Delivery

Designing, developing, and delivering heritage projects that are creative, compliant, and community‑centred.

Heritage Education & Training

Equipping organisations and communities with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to steward heritage sustainably.

Heritage Networks & Partnerships

Creating and supporting dynamic local heritage networks that strengthen collaboration, identity, and shared impact.

Every project is designed to be inclusive, ethical, and responsive to the communities we serve.

Our Values

At the heart of The Heritage Circle CIC is a commitment to:

Community

We believe heritage belongs to everyone. Our work prioritises participation, co‑creation, and shared ownership.

Integrity

We operate with transparency, professionalism, and respect — from safeguarding and governance to data protection and ethical practice.

Creativity

We use storytelling, arts‑based methods, and innovative engagement techniques to make heritage meaningful and enjoyable.

Impact

We focus on outcomes that matter: increased confidence, stronger connections, new skills, and a deeper sense of place.

Why Heritage Matters

Heritage has the power to:

  • strengthen community identity

  • support wellbeing and belonging

  • inspire creativity and learning

  • build bridges across generations

  • contribute to regeneration and place‑making

In a society shaped by complexity and change, heritage offers a way to understand ourselves and each other. The Heritage Circle CIC exists to help communities unlock that potential.

Our Commitment to Good Practice

We take our responsibilities seriously. From safeguarding and governance to GDPR compliance and ethical engagement, we ensure that every project is delivered to the highest professional standards.

Our policies, training, and organisational systems reflect our commitment to protecting participants, respecting privacy, and ensuring that our work is safe, inclusive, and accountable.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to grow, The Heritage Circle CIC remains focused on creating opportunities for people to explore, celebrate, and protect the heritage that shapes their lives. We are proud to work alongside communities, partners, and funders who share our belief in the power of heritage to make a difference.

Whether you are a community group, a heritage organisation, a school, or a partner seeking support, we would love to explore how we can work together.
