Emma is a people‑centred heritage practitioner with nearly a decade of experience delivering community‑led, volunteer‑driven and partnership‑based heritage projects. She brings strong expertise in project design, stakeholder engagement and organisational support across the heritage, cultural and public sectors.
Emma's Story
With a strong specialism in people‑focused heritage work, spanning community development, volunteering, and project delivery, Emma Fisher has nearly ten years’ experience working across the heritage, culture, and local government sectors. She has worked with a range of organisations to design, manage, and deliver funded heritage and community projects, with a strong focus on partnership working, community engagement, and volunteer involvement. Her experience includes developing and delivering projects supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, PEACE programmes, and a range of other public and charitable funders, coordinating multi-partner delivery and supporting organisations and community groups to translate strategic ideas into practical, impactful outcomes.

Emma has held senior project and community-facing roles with organisations including the National Trust, National Museums NI, and local government, managing complex projects, activity plans, and stakeholder relationships. Her work involves close collaboration with community forums, heritage groups, volunteers, statutory bodies, and delivery partners, ensuring projects are inclusive, well-governed, and rooted in local need.

Emma holds a BA in Social Anthropology from Queen’s University Belfast and an OCN Level 4 Award in Leadership and Management. Alongside her role with Heritage Circle CIC, she is Volunteering Development Officer at National Museums NI, leading strategic initiatives to embed volunteering and strengthen community involvement in heritage practice. Emma is a committee member of Volunteer Now.
